today i'll start off with a quote from an email i sent cherie this morning:
"long story, but in short: i split up with nicole, i got custody of the kids, moved into my mom's, got a good job, reunited with my old band, nicole moved down here, she got her own apartment, we share custody now, the kids are great, the music is awesome, it's way too damn hot, but i feel great...life is amazing."
that pretty much says it....no not really but, in a nutshell and in reference to the turning of the judges i spoke of in the last entry, it's right on...
i have to keep my life in a nutshell, i have to be able to describe it quickly and with confidence....in the hotel industry we called it "the elevator speech" if you were to ride in the elevator with any guests you would want to have a short little speech that describes who you are and what you do there and could do for them...it's a great idea
and it's practical in the outside world too.
"Hi, my name is Ray, I have two beautiful sons. I work for a home health agency. As a hobby I play music with my band at certain local venues in hopes of helping to boost the local economy. I am healthy and happy."
man if only it were that simple.....
but wait....
it can be.
"la mente es chingona" or loosely translated : " your will is powerful"
that will and power of that will can be dangerous....
you can accomplish anything .
you can make your wildest dreams come true...
but if you believe you can't.....then god help us
we're in trouble.
self fulfilling prophecy as it has been called sometimes is very true.
believe.
because if you don't....then unfortunately....you won't.
it's very simple.
you can damn yourself every day.
or bless yourself...it's up to you.
be good.
the laws of karma do apply.
if god is alive, it is inside, and sees through your eyes.
take time to prepare your "elevator speech" but know that it doesn't end there...
there is much more to you than that.
